Prom In A Nutshell

Prom was weeks ago, but I have been real lazy on uploading these pictures! I thought prom was going to be a raging shit bucket of drama, but actually it wasn't that bad. Everyone dropped their problems and partied for the last time of our high school lives together. I am glad its over, but I hate to admit that it was kind of fun while it lasted. I didn't take a lot of photos because I figured that my facebook was going to be plastered with prom picture tags for the next little while, and frankly, I did not want to add to that!

These would have to be my two favorite photos of the night: my short shrimp of a mother and I in photo 1, and my best friend & date for the night in photo 2. Its also ironic that they were the first and last photo's on my camera lol. For more photos, continue reading after the jump :)

Summer Challenge: Five

Why hello everyone :) How are you all doing on this wonderful Monday? I hope well! Well now that Toronto has stopped protesting and causing ridiculous havoc downtown, I went to lunch with a friend and this is what I wore. I am close to finished with this challenge and I am almost proud of myself, pigs MUST be flying lol. Wearing something STRAPLESS was nice for once, aside from my permanent tan lines from Mexico, I thought it looked cute and went well. I had previouslly said that Voluptuous had nothing worth looking at, and I now bite my words, they have stepped up their game. This dress is so cute, I fell in love!

Summer Challenge: Four

*Approaches Keyboard with Caution* HEY GUYS! :D
I know its been like a week, that felt like a month, that was REALLY a week from blogging, but I have been ending my high school year with prom and the prep for that apparently takes a week, WHO KNEW?! I also have been computer-less for a little bit but I think I should be back and running now with daily or biweekly posts :)

Just to keep you posted, these are some of the events that have happened in the last week. Our city has been raided by police men because of the G20 and G8 summits, my friend had a life threatening surgery and recovered from it, I attended my senior prom, there was an earthquake that scared the crap out of me annnnd I got my computer back, that it in a nutshell.

Floral Vest (Thrifted) Beige Cardi (GAP) White Dress (DIY) Socks & Scarf (American Apparel) Shoes (BarefootTess.com)

I am not going to quit this challenge, I promise you guys! Go SPANX/shaper free is now off the list, but it was kind of a cheat for me. I don't usually wear one so I thought I should probably pare it with one of the more challenging items on the list only to be fair, I wore these thigh high stockings. I this this will be one of the last times you see me in these socks because they drove me insane all day. I NEED a garter belt because my thighs are way to big for these to stay up on their own ahaha!

It is also REAL humid over here in Toronto, so I have not been wearing ANY makeup what so ever because it melts off the minute it hits the front door. My hair hasn't gone ballistic just yet, it is sort of agreeing with the humidity this year *YAY ME!* It is doing this side swipe, beach wave, half curly thing... I am waiting for it all to go downhill lol. Be back with another post soon,

Unneeded Fashion Stress... Prom

WELL first, I just wanted to start off by saying a huge thank you to my followers and all who take the time out of their days to comment and view my page, I really do appreciate it and thank you SO much. I finally hit 50 followers and 5500 hits a few days ago (YAY!) Yes, it seems lame but I am pretty happy! Next is 100 followers and 10,000 hits, lets see if I can make it happen :D (Harder said then done I KNOW!)

It has been a LONG and dreadful school year but it's finally here, prom. June 18th will be the day that I walk into prom, the long awaited right of passage for many teens. *sigh* Now don't get me wrong, I'm sort of excited, but I think that's because I get to dress up, not really for the event! Aside from my many mixed feelings about this day, I am sure I will have an amazing time and I felt the need to share my dress with you guys because you have been here through my prom crisis! Voila, here is my very plain but amazing prom dress :)

Now I have the dress and shoes, but nothing else =\ I love this dress only because a) I got it on sale and b) because I KNOW I will wear it again because it is so simple, yay for practicality & sale pricing! I didn't really have many options with the shoes because of my massive feet but I thought that a gold shoe would be too much and pushing tacky.

I also have no clue what to do with my hair, makeup or what i will be wearing for my prom after party. Tomorrow and the next few days leading up to this day will be spent searching for these things. Wish me the best of luck, and if I do not post before prom, I will be back to post pictures :)

Summer Challenge: Three

I'm REALLY slow on these lately, Ive been writing my exams, sorry guys! I can now check off Wear shorts (NO LEGGINGS, NO TIGHTS!) I love shorts so this wasn't so hard. Today I had to go to the doctor for a checkup and run some quick errands. I was going to ride my BIKE but mother nature decided she was upset today and that it should pour rain the entire day. Oh well, we all have our bad days lol.

Army Jacket (GAP) Plum tunic (Made By Me) Men's Loafers (SoftMoc) Scarf (H&M) High wasted cutoffs (Torrid Denim DIYed)

Because it was raining my hair was doing some crazy things, I eventually threw it in a bun because I no longer cared lol. These loafers save my feet from pain on a regular basis, SO comfy! I kind of look like a soccer mom on the go, I hope that when I have kids, I will still be able to pull this off ahah! :)

Nail Obsession: Dripping Chanel

It really has been a while since i've done my nails because of all my sports playoffs going on, but now that both my school school year and my sports seasons are coming to an end, I am back at it again!

I'm sure that everyone and their grandma have seen this nail design before, but I had to try it for myself! I used Revlon's "Minted" as the base and a nail art polish for the Chanel sign. It turned out great on my left hand because I am right handed but when it came to the RIGHT hand... there is a reason there is a picture of only one hand lol!

It took me 4+ months to find, but I finally got my mint nail polish because of an amazing friend named Sara. She called me at 9:00 am on a Saturday while she was at a Revlon sale to ask me if I wanted it, that is what you call a dedicated friend people!

Hope you guys like it, I will be back with more soon,
Until next time, Dream Frantically

Beyond Frantic Shoe Dreams

For many females these days, it is a constant struggle to find good shoes. With evolution, we have become larger, or some crap like that! I personally find shoe shopping a pain in the ass because I wear a woman's size 14-15 (Mens 12-13) Up until I was around 12 years old, I never really found this to be a problem because I was such a complete tom boy, but as my grade 6 graduation fast approached, I panicked because I owned nothing but Air Jordan's and Adidas in male sizes. Tall girl sold up to a size 13 but that really was not cutting it when my pinkie toe had to hang out!

A couple years ago when I retired my Jordan's and decided to cross over to the pink and girlie side, I found that I had everything in the outfit on point and right, except the shoes. This is where Barefoot Tess came into play. Barefoot Tess is a website that caters to the needs of women with feet sizes 4 all the way to a 15 1/2. Now I know what your thinking, because when my mother told me about it I thought the exact same thing "Oh my gosh, these shoes are going to be hideous" and oh man was I wrong. Tess has taken the time to manufacture some quality, on trend, beautifully crafted designer shoes that any girl would die for.

Their prices range anywhere from $20 to a whopping $600, but are usually on the lower end of the spectrum. These are a few of the shoes on my wish list this summer, hopefully I will be employed to make this happen!

1. MADELiNE 'Georgi' Heel in "Old Gold" $73.10 CAD
These are my dream prom shoes, and my mother has offered to purchase them for me today! Hopefully they will get here in time for me to sleep in them! ♥

2. Dolce Vita 'Pela' Wedge in Brown $179.04 CAD
These only go up to a size 13, but the measurements on the website say that they run long, and they are usually pretty accurate. Not sure if I want to pay that much for a shoe that is going to give me shin splints and blisters!

3. Faryl Robin 'Madison' Wedge in Forest Green $210.82 CAD
I want these so bad I would sell some of my furniture to get them. Does anyone want a pillow top queen mattress... only $215... COME ON! :)

4. Blowfish 'Seeing' Flats in Orange $51.91 CAD
Blowfish flats are hands down the most comfortable flats on the face of this earth. They are also pretty reasonably priced for how long they last.

5. Blowfish 'Merry' Sandal in Black $51.91 CAD
Again, comfy and functional for summertime.

6. MADELiNE 'Vitality' Heel in Electric Blue $62.50 CAD
I just bought these not to long ago wishing they came in pink, and 3 days later, they posted the BRIGHT Fuschia version, that's the BITCH part about online shopping I guess lol. I was pretty pissed for a few days but I love the shoes nonetheless, so I guess they should kind of be checked off!

I guess that's all for now, hopefully you will see some of these drool worthy shoes in my upcoming outfit posts :)

Summer Challenge: Two

Another one down! I can now check WEAR SOMETHING WITHOUT SLEEVES off of this summer list :) I like this challenge, it actually, well... challenges me LOL! I usually don't leave the house without a jacket or cardigan but hey, I felt confident today. These are also my dad's pants... how they fit me (barely) I have no clue, he is a lot skinnier then I am, but I managed to squeeze my ass and thighs into them. I need to add khaki pants to my wish list!

Khaki pants (Dad's) Floral Vest, Watch & Belt (Thrifted) Shoes (Barefoottess.com) Tank top (TNA)

I LOVE the high wasted look, but I obviously can't always rock it because of my belly, but this worked alright. My goal is to find the perfect pair of high wasted acid wash denim cut off's this summer... I will break down and cry in the store when/if I find them! Aside from the sheer emotion I feel over denim shopping, I will be back sometime during the weekend with another post.

Summer Challenge: One

Okay I know i'm lame because I picked the easiest one WEAR A SHORT SKIRT/DRESS to do first but I figured I might as well get it out of the way! It's been a while since i've posted an OOTD, I'm a bit rusty, but I miss it! ALL that aside, this is just a little cute outfit I threw on today, felt like being overdressed and preppy lol. I love denim, the skirt saves my life sometimes & I am now becoming obsessed with rings & bangles... I blame forever21 for that! I'm also running out of lip stain because I use it so much! My lips are huge so they take like, a hundred and one coats *contemplates lip reduction...* oh well!

Red Skirt (DIY) Blue Denim Button Down (GAP) Bangles & Belt (Vintage from my Mom)
Heels (Barefoottess.com) Bag (Gift from Madrid)

The bag is SUPER cute, It is a real leather bag with removable shoulder strap & some amazing imprinted detailing! It was given to me by a friend who took a trip to Madrid & brought it back for her sister, but ended up giving it to me because it wasn't her sisters style... Hey, her loss is my gain, I love the smell of real leather, it's like a sickness, I look like a crackhead sniffing it sometimes... Something I probably shouldn't admit on a public blog lmao.

Well now, wear a short skirt/dress is complete, ONE DOWN, 8+ to go! Looking forward to finishing this one, also looking forward to stalking the pages of the other girls doing this challenge, always fun lol!
