Nail Obsession: Matte Aqua Zebra

It really has been a while since I've painted nails with more then one color! After months of warehouse sales & rummaging through nail polish bins, I finally found the Essie "Matte About You" Top coat! I must say, Canada really sucks for getting this stuff in while its on trend lol. Anyways, I was excited and anxious so decided to test it out.

Please forgive the messy polish job. Originally I wanted to paint my nails matte black with a glossy black cheetah print over top, but because I haven't painted with my nailbrush in so long, I was rusty. I ended up settling for this aqua zebra print because the design is quite forgiving for those with unsteady hands.



I used: Sally Hanson's Nail Lacquer in Black Gloss | Essie Matte About You Topcoat | Art Deco Nail Art Polish in Aqua

This black polish was the fuel to my nail polish addiction. It was the very first tube of polish I ever bought and it still works like new. To be honest, I usually don't wear dark colours because I SUCK at applying them. Usually by the time I'm done, all of my fingers are covered in color, I am frustrated about wasting my time, polish and polish remover, I then have to redo my nails and overall I'm just not a happy camper.

I'm also officially in LOVE with this Essie topcoat! I thought it would take a little more work than one layer of topcoat to create flawless matte nails, but clearly I was wrong. Literally it took me 5 seconds to paint each nail and 30 seconds for it to dry, I absolutely love it. I also must mention that I own about 9 of these Art Deco polish tubes. The slender, inch long brush makes it extremely easy to paint designs, and they are only $1 each, gotta love it!

MY PANTS CAME! After 26 agonizing days of harassing our mailman, (Who's name is Devon by the way) We are both extremely happy that my Animal Twill Trousers have finally arrived from Evans. I got them on the 20th of August, and I think I have worn them 5 times already lol. Either people love them or hate them. I ran into a friend who told me "They look like pajamas but you look... comfy." Comfy isn't really the word you look for in an outfit 'complement', but it's alright, I still love them! It's also safe to say these are the best pants of all time... ALL TIME *Kanye West Voice*

My mother also bought me this perfect wash Levi's Mens denim jacket the other day and I love her for it. Had to buy the mens version only because the sleeves would not have been long enough for me to roll down. I could barely tell the difference between the two when I held them side by side so everything worked out well.

The Outfit Today: August 20th 2010

No, you are not seeing things. Two outfits in two days. Don't get used to it though lol. I was suppose to go to the beach but that plan failed because of the weather, so I figured "why not dress the part anyways?" I was really comfortable but wish I had worn tights. Today was Toronto's first cold summer day. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining because I pray for the first day of fall to come so I can start wearing scarfs, sweaters and jackets again!

Anyways, love this TNA bag but never really get to use it. I also found a hat that ALMOST fits my huge head of matted curly hair. I added an elastic so that it wouldn't fly off my head but a small adjustment for a $6 hat.

I went to go run some errands in this shirt a few weeks ago and a lady working in the mall, ran out of the store after me to ask me where I got it. I felt complemented considering I DIY shredded it. I'm a nerd, it pretty much made my week. Oh and how do we like my backyard as a backdrop? I'm pretty sure you're all sick of seeing my white living room wall post, after post, after post.

NEW VIDEO: Kanye West - Power

Kanye is in some sort of King or God like state of mind, I'm telling you! Although you're an asshole for only feeding us a minute and forty-five seconds of a video Kanye, I freaking love it. I felt the same back when he released the "flashing lights" video, left hanging, out on this cliff, with the rest of these Kanye fans. I mean, the cinematography, the symbolism, the dagger lurking overhead, I don't know why, but I am extremely fascinated. Thank you again Mr. West, excited to see how you will yet again outdo yourself.

The Outfit Today: August 4th 2010

This is a pretty lazy outfit for me. Toronto has been super hot and humid for the last couple days so I am pretty sure I changed into shorts sometime after this. I have also fallen in love with the H&M sheer tank, they are so ridiculously comfortable for only $6! I bought 3 for now and I will be living in them for the remainder of this summer.

I also found my Micky Mouse bag from when my parents took me to Disney World 13 some years ago! Although it is a child's bag, I feel that I am old enough to pull it off as "vintage" because it is so worn down. (At least that's what I am telling myself dammit lol!) There was a point in my life, from ages 5 to about 12, where I did not let go of this bag because I loved it so much, now that I've found it, this might happen again... You've been warned! :)
