Are Those... Pastels?

Dress/Cardi DIY | Pants ASOS | Ruffle Shirt H&M | Scarf Stoneridge

All of a sudden, I have this urge to wear camel, beige & cream all the time. I don't know what's wrong with me or where this came from. (I'm blaming Tumblr!) I went from wanting to wear head to toe black to... pastels? I'm as baffled as anyone else. Anyways, sticking to the challenge rules, I wore my ASOS pants from the last outfit I posted. The cardigan is actually this dress. I made it as a convertible dress that can be worn in different ways, and apparently it works lol. My hair is slowly loosing its lovely front swoop because of built up grease, so back to the curls soon.

January Playlist

A playlist of just these tracks, give or take three more songs, exists on my iPhone. I play it on a loop, until I get sick of every single song in the playlist, then I make a new one. It's my vicious cycle of music life, but when you have minimal space left on your mp3 player of choice, there is no other way! lol.

Challenge: Spot The Difference

I've been inspired to come up with a outfit challenge. Personally, challenges push me to try harder with my outfits haha! I would love for some of you guys to try it with me, and if it is proven successful, I hopefully hold some sort of contest/challenge giveaway (bold words for a first timer lol, lets take baby steps!) Anyways: Let me explain!

This Spot The Difference challenge will force you to mix and match your pieces in ways you maybe never thought of before. Starting out with one outfit, you must then use one of the clothing items to create a new outfit, in a different style. For example, in the photo below, the basic black jeans from the first ensemble were then used to create a new outfit. The differences spotted were the denim shirt & new bag added to make the second outfit. You will then carry this on for 8 outfits.

See how every outfit contains a piece from the last outfit, yet every one looks new & unique? That's the goal!

RULES:
* You must wear at least 1 item from the previous outfit. More then 1 item is aloud.
* Your last outfit should involve something from your first outfit to link the looks full circle.
* Any item of clothing &/or accessories counts as an item. ex. necklaces, shoes, bags etc..
* Try to mix pieces that you've NEVER thought of wearing together. HAVE FUN WITH IT, that's what challenges are about right!

I definitely can't wait to get started with this one, I will use my last post as my starter outfit. Hopefully some of you would like to do this challenge with me, it would be fun for you to join along :) (If so, I will make a banner for everyone) Wish me luck!

QUESTIONS ANSWERED:

Dee from The Merry Traveller asked "Does it need to be 8 consecutive days?" No it does not need to be consecutive days in a row. She makes a good point that this could be a bit gross for people living in hot climates & hygiene! You can space them out how ever you please because that could be kind of gross lmao.

Just Your Everyday "Typical Blogger"

Vest Evan's | Pants ASOS | Necklace DIY | Button Down Banana Republic | Bag Ebay

I was told 4 times today, that I looked like your "typical blogger." Now, I don't know what your "typical blogger" looks like these days (considering there are millions of us) but I'm going to assume it was a combination of the fur vest, the knock off bag & the high wasted pants. Sound like a fair assumption... Yes? Well, It's the only one I've got lol. I didn't know whether to take offense to the remark or thank people, but I took the comment kindly and ran with it.

p.s. how do you guys like the blown out hair? I don't do it often, felt rebellious today.

Pre-Fall 2011

I spent my weekend under the covers, nose buried in the Style.com app, trying to narrow down my favorites out of all the 2011 pre-fall collections. "Beyond fabulous!" were my thoughts on every collection I saw, these are three of my favorites.

The Outfit Today: Never Left The Basics

Jacket Levi's | Pants ASOS | Necklace Aldo | Tank Evans

I've loved and wanted these pants for a VERY long time, and now that I have them, I have no clue what to do with them. I've convinced myself that nothing in my current wardrobe goes with these goddamn pants but black, white & denim (which isn't really the case.) They pretty much go with everything, I've just been SUPER lazy and basic for the last week or so. I will use this "nothing goes" logic as an excuse to go shopping yet again for some less basic peices. *shrug* Hey, why not!? By the way, don't freak, My hair is still red! It needs to be dyed brighter as you can tell from the lackluster photos.
