You Are Not Invited To The Other Side Of Sanity

Crop Top Urban Outfitters | Jacket Gap | Skirt Evans | Boots Doc Martins | Fur Stole Ebay | Necklace Thrifted | Watch Zellers

If it wasn't already obvious, I am officially crop top obsessed. There is something about that breeze that is addictive, and apparently the flesh belt comes with the matching confidence... Who knew? Anyways, I went a bit grunge today, I actually love it lol. Like a dirty hipster kid / ke$ha hybrid or something... Can't stay classy 24/7, right? RIGHT? Oh well, regardless, this will be a reoccurring look during the summer.

P.S. Take in my dirty grunge bun, I LOVE IT, its so perfect! LOL

Double Take: The Beige Blazer

Being the "boring basics" girl that I am, it was natural instinct to purchase this beige blazer from Long Tall Sally last week. With the number of times I called that store, I'm sure the staff over at Long Tall Sally now know my voice by heart. I had been eying it on the website for months before it actually came to any of the Toronto locations. When it finally did, the store called to let ME know that it was in... Now that's what I call grade +A, amazing customer service!

It's extremely light weight for spring, completely water resistant (though I'm sure I will manage to get it dirty somehow) and the perfect addition to my minimalist wardrobe. I plan on wearing the living CRAP out of this thing, so take this as your warning, you're going to be seeing a whole lot of this blazer on FD... Get used to it! Here are two potential outfits I have in mind. The * represents items I already own:

I've recently fallen in love with color blocking and neon. If I owned every type of neon yellow accessory known to man, I would die a happy woman. This electric yellow goes great with the plain beige jacket. Add some medium-wash boyfriend fit jeans, a bold colored tank and a neutral shoe, to create a casual day look.

This second look fills me with excitement. Red & Aqua is one of my favorite color combination's on this planet, and given the gray and beige base of the outfit, I have a bit of room to play with color. These aqua accessories with the pop of red through the cut out oxfords is to die for. ASOS currently has a pair of gray trousers that I will be purchasing, solely for this look. Paired with this black bustier from torrid, a neutral bag, and these adorable shoes. All that's needed to finish off this look would be a red lip and flawless lashes. *swoon*

Won't You Give Me Something To Remember?

Crop Top H&M | Jacket Gap | Chino Pants Zellers (Canadian Target) | Shoes Sperry Topsiders | Bag Gifted | Fur Tail eBay

Well, it's officially spring as of yesterday, even though it's been spring in my mind for weeks. I for one, am excited *screams, dances and jumps for undying joy!* ... You know, just a tad excited. It being spring and all, no matter how cold, rainy or cloudy it is outside, I simply refuse to wear a winter jacket for the fact that, well, it's spring for Christ sake! *cough* I threw a jacket over this outfit before I left my house *cough* Let's not judge me on my excitement to shed these winter layers.

I had a lot of confused looks today at this crop top. I try not to assume the worst of people I don't even know, so I will imagine they were staring because it was only 7 degrees outside and I chose to wear a crop top and cropped pants. It's only an inch of skin after all, It's not hurting anyone or starting wars.

The 1st Anniversary of Frantic Dreams

Skirt ASOS Curve | T-Shirt Hanes | Necklace Aldo | Boots Doc Martin

Today is my little blogs first anniversary. Seems like just yesterday I started this thing to bitch about my problems, without anyone actually reading them. Now... Well, I still bitch about my problems, give or take a few a few gratuitous outfit shots (as so) and people actually read my rants (such as the one you're reading now.)

I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who reads Frantic Dreams. Thank you for all the kind words, the lovely comments, the subscriptions and the wonderful emails. I truly have some of the kindest followers know to man, and I thank you all, old or new, for joining me on this ride. I still have all of those frantic dreams I had when I started this blog a year ago, a list of plans for the years ahead, and I hope that you will all be here to celebrate number two with me.

P.S. I'm sorry, but I really hate the term "Blogoversary." I don't know what it is about that word, but it makes my skin crawl. Like a bad combined celebrity couple name gone wrong. LOL

I Heard She Got It From The Gypsies

Black Button Down & Fur Vest Evans | Tights Long Tall Sally | Head band DIY

I will try to contain my excitement, but today my challenge days are over. I am now free to wear what I like in my posts, without feeling like a failure! Anyways, I wore this black button down from my last post, with my first challenge post's fur vest, and there you have it folks. Oh and if you couldn't already tell, this is pretty much my favorite shirt ever, you'll be seeing a lot more of it this summer.

I was always called the gypsy child of the family, bound to the destiny of being that "crazy aunt" that everyone knows, fears, and loves. I might as well start dressing the part! I always wanted to wear one of these head-tie-turban things, but my hair was to short under the wrap to get away with it. Now that it's at an acceptable length to do this, I thought I'd give it a try. I'm not sure if the look is for me, but I tried, and that count's for something. You never know what works until you try, Right?

Circle Scarf Dress Tutorial

I wore an American Apparel circle scarf as a dress yesterday and everyone kept asking me where I got it. It was also featured in my last post, and woke up to 15 emails asking "HOW DID YOU DO THAT?! Please do a tutorial." SO, to save everyone time, I thought it would be much easier to make a video then a step by step photo guide. I still suck at these things and have no video editing software, but here you go folks. By the way, WORST VIDEO STILL, EVER for the preview photo *le sigh* you win some, you lose some right?

You'd Better Run, Outrun My Gun.

Dress / Circle Scarf American Apparel | Black Button Down Evans | Jacket Gap | Necklace & Ring Forever21

(Photos: Tumblr, Portfo.li, Lookbook.nu)
Being an eternal lover of camel and neon, these three spring looks caught my eye. Spicing up my boring beige, camel and cream wardrobe with a splash of neon sounds like my sort of trend! I wore my neon pink American Apparel circle scarf as a dress, contrasted the pink with a bit of turquoise, and threw on my trusty Gap camel coat for some much needed warmth. Viola, my attempt at "trendy" lol.

I'm still doing this spot the difference challenge, only because I said I would finish it. ONE MORE POST and I'm DONE! I've realized something in the process of trying to finish... I hate challenges. I would like to photograph myself wearing whatever the hell I'd like that day, not have to think about it. Oh well, lesson learned, I won't be taking on/ coming up with any more challenges, that's for sure.

Haider Ackermann Fall 2011

(Photos courtesy of Style.com)

I do not even know where to start with this collection. Everything. Mens wear inspired, soft concept pieces with the hard detailing. From the fabric, to the color combination, everything is flawless. Haider Ackermann, you talented bastard you, amazing work *stands up to give a one-woman standing ovation.*

Winning.

Jacket GAP | Jeans Parasuco | Button Down Old Navy | AW Knock Off Ebay | Hat & Scarf H&M | Shoes Sperry Topsider

I don't know about anyone else, but I am totally obsessed with Charlie Sheen now. That special made me love him, when I'm sure it should have done the opposite. If I say "winning" or "blood of the tiger" ONE more time, I'm sure everyone around me is going to kill me.

Anyways. Basic outfit, minimalist as per usual. I never wear jeans, I think everyone was looking at me pretty weird for wearing them today... It also could have been because I decided to cuff them even though it was -5 outside. *shrug* whatever, still winning!

Ps. As for everyone looking for this bag on eBay here you go. Oh and, you're welcome!
