2011 Coachella Depression

The title really speaks for itself. I mean, if you're not at Coachella, you're somewhere wishing you were, there is no use lying about it now! Overrated or not, I had planned to attend this years music festival with one of my best friends, but we got to talking and our "sensible instincts" kicked in. It was an actually possibly that we were going, but we talked our way out of it. We would have had to skimp and save, cutting down on things such as tuition, clothing, food, water air... you know, just the essentials! Oh well, we vowed to make it there one day, possibly next year. Here are a few of my favorite style shots taken at the festival.

No One Cares That You're Sick, Until You Look Like Hell!

Trench Coat GAP Outlet | Denim Shirt Vintage | Tights LTS | Shoes BFT | Bag & Glasses Ebay | Head Scarf H&M

I woke up feeling like crap today. Congested sinuses, pounding migraine, puffy face, the whole 9 yards. As much as I wanted to crawl back under my covers, I had to get up and do some things today, so I had two options: Throw on my trusted roots track pants & old football hoodie OR put some effort into what I was going to wear. As you can see, I couldn't find my track pants!

I'm makeup-less, have no hair product in, and frankly I just hated the world today, but at least I looked decent. I figured if I added enough distracting accessories (huge glasses, sparkly bag, head scarf etc.) no one would notice my constant sniffling or nose blowing.

Anyways, I'll be spending the rest of this day with a stack of magazines, a cup of soup and a pair of noise canceling headphones. Hope you're all having a better Thursday then I am, lol ♥

A Few Of My Favourite Things

I rarely wear jewelry. Why? Well, I love to be be extremely comfortable & little things like tight rings or swollen earlobes annoy me easily! This being said, I do love too accessorize & I own quite a few pieces. No matter the price or material, cheep, plastice costume jewelry is what I really love. Anything shinny, sparkly and over the top immediately catches my eye. This "shiny ball syndrome" has left me with a collection of great proportions. These are just a few of favorite trinkets, both old & new.

Crystal Drop Earrings from a Flea Market & Studs from Joe Fresh

Something I Can’t Control

Blazer Thrifted | Button Down Old Navy | Denim Cut-Off's DIY | Bag H&M/DIY | Socks Ralph Lauren

Sorry for the lack of updates people, I haven't really been leaving the house much, let alone getting dressed at all. No point in taking photos of outfits I haven't left the house in! But that's besides the point. Why? Because IT'S SPRINGGGGGGGGGGGG PEOPLE! Finally, after months upon months of jackets & full length pants, I can walk outside and not freeze to death without a parka.

Since we're moving in 3 days, I've been living in these cut off shorts & white t-shirts. It's my "packing wardrobe" so to speak. It's also kind of disgusting how long I've been wearing them, but it's really something I can't control in this current state of chaos that is my life. Let me also say that I've always loved this socks & heels thing! Mainly because it makes me look a little shorter. (Not really, but I can dream right?) My legs are about 60% of my height, so I try to use every illusion in the book to camouflage this!

The "Perfect Room" Folder

If you follow me on twitter, you may or may not know that I will be moving on the 15th of this month. After 6 years of living just outside of Toronto, I will finally be living in the downtown core, where I already spend the majority of my time.

Despite the fact that my mother and I have moved many times (somewhere around six or seven, I've lost count!) I still despise the process of moving. Though me and my mother have similar taste, It always takes weeks, sometimes months, to figure out what we want to do with the decor. While making these decisions, we're stuck looking at a pile of sad looking brown cardboard boxes. So to speed up this process, I started a folder of inspiration for our "perfect rooms." Yes, call me crazy but there is a whole folder, I'm at 197 photos while typing this!

Sleek modern furniture, vintage bohemian accessories & feminine touches is the objective. I was never the girl who wanted pastel pink walls and a Parisian decor, but now I'm discovering that I actually like these things. Rich colored bedspreads, jewel tone pillows and cast iron embellishments look amazing when balanced with cold, stark, minimalist furniture. *sequels from excitement* Here are just a few of the many photos from my Perfect Room folder.
